Labor Board Affirms Local 634 election victory

April 1, 2010, Philadelphia--The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB) has rejected SEIU’s appeal and upheld the election victory of UNITE HERE Local 634. School cafeteria workers voted 1121 to 551 for UNITE HERE against SEIU.

Now is the time for us to all join together to fight for a fair contract with the School District!

Dear Union Brothers and Sisters:

On September 12, hundreds of us gathered for the Local 634 membership meeting, to discuss the important gains that we expect to make during our upcoming contract negotiations.

Our contract expires today, September 30. However, you should know that we have a written commitment from the School District to maintain the current terms of the contract until the results of the upcoming election are known.

We look forward to winning the upcoming election and getting back to the table to focus on what's important: Winning victories at the bargaining table!
