The Story of Local 634

Since 1977, Local 634 has represented Philadelphia School District employees, including approximately 2,200 cafeteria workers and noontime aides.

Doris Smith, the current elected President of Local 634, recently retired from the School District. She has worked more than 30 years as a Philadelphia School cafeteria worker. The union has recently appointed a bargaining committee to negotiate our next contract with the School District.
