Hilton Garden Inn Union Members:
The hotel is now being managed by a company called Driftwood (HGI associates and GF are out of the picture). Driftwood tentatively plans to reopen the hotel January 4th. Within the next week, they will recall a very small number of housekeeping & engineering employees by seniority to begin deep cleaning of the building. All food and beverage will remain closed for now. The bell position will not be utilized at this point. Driftwood will conduct COVID safety training for those who are returning to work.
Your Union is continuing to push for legislation to protect your job through the duration of the pandemic. This legislation is especially key to you and your co-workers at the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel will most likely sell again and it is likely Driftwood will operate the hotel for a limited period of time. The final City Council vote will be Thursday, December 10th at 10:00 AM. It passed the first hurdle last week! Let’s push it across the finish line!
